Students from the Faculty of Education Sciences visited the facilities of the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa) and they realized a tour by the different areas which form this organism, guided by the MSc IT Rogelio Prieto Alvarado, who belongs to the Operative Coordination department of the PIT-UAS.
As part of the welcome to the students, they were told about the objective and functions of the Park, it was explained to them that the PIT is the institutional contribution of the UAS to face the complex problems in the matter of economic development that is occasioned by the fact that the Government, the higher education institutions and the enterprises do not labor synergistically.
Thus, PIT-UAS’ actions, said Prieto Alvarado, contribute to the overcoming of circumstances detected as causal of the lack of development in Sinaloa, since the Park integrates multidisciplinary projects that make the most of the diverse capabilities of the professionals and researchers from Sinaloa and these are combined with the information and communication technologies, implementing the triple helix model (Government-University-Enterprise), in order to strengthen the technological capabilities of the state in key areas of knowledge.
At the end of the tour, once the university students had known the offer of the PIT-UAS and how it works, they were exhorted to join the Park’s dynamic, through the proposal and development of projects with high impact in terms of technology and innovation, which may hold on to specialized calls from both private and public organisms.
