Course on applied informatics is given at PIT-UAS

Courses about applied informatics are given with the purpose of training on technological methodologies, the programmes are bound for enterprises resident at the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa). The Director of PIT-UAS, MBA José Ramón López Arellano, informed these courses are for training on systems of informatics security, generation of prototypes with system functioning and programming systems, among other topics. The university researcher recalled that, in order to carry out this training, in linkage with the enterprise HunabSys (one of the residents at the Park), a call from the National Institute of the Entrepreneur (Instituto Nacional del Emprendedor, INADEM) was attended. «Afterwards, there was a talk with Qualtop Enterprise, dedicated to impart this type of certified courses, and until the month of April they will be certifying resident entrepreneurs, both external and university», added. Some of the certified courses are: Scrum Master, Scrum Team Member, Scrum Product Owner, Android OS, LEAN Startup, Java, Prototyping and Algorithms. MBA López Arellano anticipated that after obtaining this support with the INADEM, spaces inside PIT-UAS are now for university personnel development, among others, the researchers and technologists who will help to improve the working performance with such certifications. UAS participates in the training for the municipalities’ adhesion to Connected Mexico Project

In a session convened by the Secretariat of Governmental Innovation (SIG, Secretaría de Innovación Gubernamental) of Sinaloa State, the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa), which functions as one of the two State Operative Instances (IOE, Instancias Operadoras Estatales) of the Connected Mexico Project (PMC, Proyecto México Conectado), participated in the training about the technical process that municipal authorities must follow in order to guarantee their adhesion to this federal program. MBA José Ramón López Arellano, General Coordinator of the IOE-UAS, was commissioned to explain the functioning of the Information System Connected Mexico (SIMCO, Sistema de Información México Conectado), platform created for registering the types of buildings, the apps, the sites and the infrastructure of all the public buildings and spaces which are going to be benefited through the Project. The session was leaded by Karim Pechir Espinoza de los Monteros, principal of the SIG and responsible of the PMC on the part of the State Government, who urged the municipal representatives to comply with the guidelines in order to achieve their inclusion, and thereby «… make a reality out of the dream of having a digital Sinaloa». Additionally, he compromised himself to work so the State can become a national referent in the matter of connectivity; this, in front of Diego Ulloa Damy, representative of MPS Mónica Aspe Bernal, principal of the Coordination of the Information and Knowledge Society, instance of the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation of the Republic and which is the responsible of the Project’s operation. Besides, during the explanation of the legal process, in charge of Luis Alejandro León Dávila, Operative Responsible of the National Coordinator Instance (ICN, Instancia Coordinadora Nacional), which is operated by the University of Guadalajara, it was specified that the municipalities’ adhesion requires a legal and technical procedure, which will allow to enjoy the PMC’s benefits. For its part, the IOE-UAS took part in the explanation of the procedure to realize the apps and type of buildings’ registry, meanwhile representatives of the IOE Technological Institute of Culiacán (ITC, Instituto Tecnológico de Culiacán) participated in the training about the georeferenced capture of the types of sites and infrastructure. In the session were also present: Alejandra Velasco González, ICN’s Responsible of the Planning Phase; Yuriana Elizabeth Quintero Morales, ICN’s State Intermediary in Sinaloa, and Eduardo Antonio Alonso Astorga, IOE-ITC’s General Coordinator. UAS receives first training on documental matter for the Connected Mexico Project

Within the framework of Connected Mexico Project (PMC, Proyecto México Conectado), on Thursday 22nd of January took place, at the Academic Tower of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa), a workshop for the creation of deliverable documents, directed to the teamwork of the State Operative Instance (IOE, Instancia Operadora Estatal) UAS, which is one of the two IOE in the State. Sinaloa is so far the only State of the Republic in which two IOE are designated to operate the PMC, likewise plays this role the Technological Institute of Culiacán (ITC, Instituto Tecnológico de Culiacán). Speakers from the National Coordinator Instance (ICN, Instancia Coordinadora Nacional), University of Guadalajara, emphasized that the documentary backup of the two IOE’s actions are of utmost importance, since it will make easier the thorough accomplishment of the acquired responsibilities by both IOE; similarly, broached the guidelines stipulated by the ICN for the realization of the phases for the planning and the market study comprehended within the PMC. The training was on charge of the responsible of Audit and Documentary Management, Carlos Alberto Franco Reboreda, and Alexandro Pérez Nava, responsible of Economic Analysis and Competition. Connected Mexico Project will favorably impact on education quality: Juan Eulogio Guerra Liera

With Connected Mexico Project (PMC, Proyecto México Conectado) Sinaloa will reach other perspectives in the matter of communication, infrastructure and technological advance, the quality of State’s education will be favorably impacted, expressed the Rector of Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa). PhD Juan Eulogio Guerra Liera referred like this to the Project, in which the University functions as one of the State Operative Instances (IOE, Instancias Operativas Estatales) and participates in practically the whole process. «Nowadays it is indispensable the usage of communication through internet, it provides access to reliable academic information pages and data bases, it is a very opportune way to communicate and exchange information», said while explaining PMC has as goal to communicate the whole country and to create a web of strategic points which allow the population to have an access to these information lines through internet. «At national level, the University of Guadalajara is coordinating; at state level, we are participating, altogether with the Technological Institute of Culiacán, and we have an important participation […] nobody can deny the impact and the presence at state level our institution has, it is the most important, without lessening the other higher education institutions, but this is a strong institution and it has presence in every single municipality of the state, even in highland zones, inaccessible not just for internet but also for education», declared. Guerra Liera pointed out UAS was invited to participate because, in addition, its personnel counts with the qualification and the quality required. «The University is going to participate along the different phases of this program. To begin, there is this phase, known as market study, which ain’t more than having the proper analysis and location of those points where it is suggested internet connectivity would have a bigger social impact, where more people of our state would be benefited, and besides its usage would be of a greater impact», specified. Afterwards, added, the University will be in the phase to review the profiles and the suitability of the functioning at the connected sites. «The important is that UAS is going to participate strongly and in coordination with the University of Guadalajara, we will be accomplishing with a great deployment of infrastructure, and logistics, in order to reach such zones, and propose those places where this benefit hasn’t arrived yet», expressed. The university leader added that PMC will be of huge impact in educative sector, since the possibilities for development of the country, today more than ever, depend on a quality education: «When we talk about a quality education, it is obvious that technological advances must be put within its reach; although, besides, the objectives of educative sector in our country must emphasize precisely the quality, the appropriateness, the coverage, the inclusion and the equity; and here impacts the impulse to scientific and technological education». Mobile device is created in order to upgrade electoral processes

Accelerate field actions during electoral processes is the main objective of the project denominated DMIE-VotoX (Dispositivo Móvil Integral para Elecciones, Integral Mobile Device for Elections), which currently develops EVOTUM enterprise in the facilities of the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa). Jesús Óscar Crespo Palazuelos, representative of the economic entity, made known this mobile device will upgrade electoral processes traceability on field. With this, the personnel of electoral organisms will improve the real time data obtaining. «There would be a significant reduction on the flux of information, from the moment electoral data is generated to the moment the concerned parts receive the information; as well as the creation of conditions for an agile interaction between actors of an electoral process (electoral committee, electoral councils, voting booths, political parties and citizens)», added. He recalled the resource was obtained by means of the call of the Innovation Incentives Program 2014, launched by the National Council of Science and Technology, through linkage with academic organisms, as it is the case of the PIT-UAS. «Thanks to the project we made the most of Technological Innovation Park’s facilities, their academic experience. As to technological transfer, they provide the technical experience of their researchers; us, the experience in electoral processes», expressed. Director of PIT-UAS visits educational and research institutions in Germany

López Arellano says that marketing is fundamental to transfer technology. Knowing technology transfer and scientific patent processes, and know how to sell them through marketing, those were some objectives of the visit made to different universities and research centers in Germany by the Director of the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa). As part of his experience, José Ramón López Arellano related that German development in regard to technology transfer is due to marketing implementation on its basic science applied research, which strengthens its growth. He considered that, in order to reach such point of growth, German community had to change its mindset and break paradigms; situation which, he laments, has not occurred in Mexico yet. He said that, however, he witnessed German universities’ interest on supporting the development of Mexico’s higher education institutions, and specifically UAS, so economic growth can be fomented and cooperation bonds can be made with this aim. «These universities are Kassel’s, Postdam’s and Brandenburg’s, as well as the German Development Institute», specified. Guided visit for students from the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Technological Sciences

Students from the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Technological Sciences originating from Guamúchil Campus of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa) visited the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica). This, within the framework of specialized interviews with enterprises located in the State of Sinaloa’s capital city, which also included a visit to the Coppel Corporation based on La Primavera. PhD on Robotics Ulises Zaldívar and MSc IT Rogelio Prieto, Operative Coordinators of the Park, received and attended the 42 university students, guiding them by the different areas that form the PIT-UAS. At the beginning of the tour, they were told about the objectives and the way this university organism operates. At the end, after focusing on the related areas of study of the visitors, they were talked about the possibility of subsequently participating in projects to be develop at the PIT-UAS, since one of its functions is precisely to educate and to specialize the human capital from the lecture rooms of the University, with the purpose that they, as well as the State and the University, can make the most of their academic and professional training. Director of Autonomous University of Sinaloa’s Technological Innovation Park will make a stay in Germany

To know more and to update on the management of technological transfer between the academy and the private sector, such is the purpose of the 15 days stay in Germany the Director of the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tenológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa). José Ramón López Arellano revealed that in Mexico the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología) coordinates this program on intensive professionalization named Get-In, altogether with the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES, Asociación Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior); in Germany, it is the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst). «I’ll be visiting the main research centers, which are pillars of applied research in Europe, with the purpose of knowing the technological transfer bureaus’ functioning and operating models», specified. The university researcher informed that the cities he will visit are: Münster, Bonn and Berlin. López Arellano recalled that, in order to apply to such CONACyT’s program, a PIT-UAS’ then current project was presented. PIT-UAS’ Director specified that this project consists on the development of a mobile application and the Park is the only one that represents Mexico. «We will check if we are applying the best transfer and operation practices, with respect to what is being done at a global level», expressed. Master lecture Technological Innovation Park-UAS

As part of the 21st National Science and Technology Week, MBA José Ramón López Arellano gave his master lecture Technological Innovation Park-UAS on the Audiovisual Room of the Academic Tower Culiacán. López Arellano commented that the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) plays a very important role in the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa), it is located by the side of UAS’ Faculty of Informatics, its aim is to promote the development in Sinaloa by reinforcing the state’s technological capacities, providing knowledge’s essentials from a strategic transversal platform: information and communication technologies; this helps to foster regional economy’s productivity and competitiveness, through knowledge generation as well as by generating, applying and integrating technologies knowledge in order to solve problems of our environment. Guided visit for students from the Faculty of Education Sciences

Students from the Faculty of Education Sciences visited the facilities of the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa) and they realized a tour by the different areas which form this organism, guided by the MSc IT Rogelio Prieto Alvarado, who belongs to the Operative Coordination department of the PIT-UAS. As part of the welcome to the students, they were told about the objective and functions of the Park, it was explained to them that the PIT is the institutional contribution of the UAS to face the complex problems in the matter of economic development that is occasioned by the fact that the Government, the higher education institutions and the enterprises do not labor synergistically. Thus, PIT-UAS’ actions, said Prieto Alvarado, contribute to the overcoming of circumstances detected as causal of the lack of development in Sinaloa, since the Park integrates multidisciplinary projects that make the most of the diverse capabilities of the professionals and researchers from Sinaloa and these are combined with the information and communication technologies, implementing the triple helix model (Government-University-Enterprise), in order to strengthen the technological capabilities of the state in key areas of knowledge. At the end of the tour, once the university students had known the offer of the PIT-UAS and how it works, they were exhorted to join the Park’s dynamic, through the proposal and development of projects with high impact in terms of technology and innovation, which may hold on to specialized calls from both private and public organisms.
