CERN’s researcher gives at PIT-UAS a conference about innovation for natural and exact sciences pedagogy

On Monday 18th of August, researcher Ildefonso León Monzón visited the facilities of the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa), with the purpose of knowing its different opportunity areas, as well as giving the conference Project of Innovation for Natural and Exact Sciences Pedagogy. Such event was destined to researchers and academics of diverse knowledge areas within the UAS. As part of his conference, Doctor in Physics León Monzón talked about his experience in the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN, Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire), located in Geneva (Switzerland). His activities were developed in ALICE Detector, which labor consists on recreating the Big Bang and demonstrating how the creation of the Universe occurred. About this particular, he assured: «Years ago, it was thought that when the early Universe was created, it had a gas property, as in gaseous state, and ALICE experiment brought it ain’t gas, is liquid; but strange, in addition. It’s perfect, flows without barriers». By last, he commented that the UAS has a very important role within the CERN: «Nowadays, the UAS is the one which contributes with the biggest quantity of human resources for the detectors’ design». University authorities open the Technological Innovation Park (PIT) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS)

Opened by PhD Juan Eulogio Guerra Liera, the Technological Innovation Park (PIT, Parque de Innovación Tecnológica) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa) is a space for creativity, based on technology, the experience and the vocation of attending concrete necessities of the socioeconomic environment. The investment almost reached 1.4 million of dollars, with resources from the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología). At the protocol event, UAS’ Rector expressed that by means of the PIT-UAS the University is giving one more step in the economy of knowledge, given that the mission, the objectives and the vision of this organism consist on becoming a generator of solutions for the productive sectors. «All this will be possible by contributing to specialized human resources’ formation, integrating transdisciplinary groups, offering services, developing ideas and commercializing technological products», explained. He highlighted the Park will be a support for University’s technological development, since the researchers will find the backings for their projects in it. By such reason, expressed a public recognition and gratitude to CONACyT, the Chamber of Deputies and the Government of the Republic, by propelling this kind of initiatives. Guerra Liera reiterated the disposition of those who integrate UAS’ central administration to be attentive to the evolution of this space of scientific production, for the purpose of taking care of it and spreading its capacities and benefits. «To the public and private sectors, I invite you to approach to UAS and to know the institution’s advances», pointed out. Present at the event, PhD Mario Nieves Soto, Director of Research and Postgraduate General Direction, emphasized PIT-UAS is a tangible and not abstract product, as is it commonly thought when people talk about science and technology. «The University is sending a message to society and is saying that, in this institution, pertinent research is done and we have the best academic capabilities to develop the Plan of Institutional Development Consolidation 2017’s strategic central concepts», stated. Recognition to Nieves Soto The rector of the UAS gave to PhD Mario Nieves Soto a prize as a recognition to his work at the head of the Research and Postgraduate General Direction. The university leader praised Nieves Soto’s work, as well as his leadership and determination invested in order to achieve the recent certification to the Bureau of Knowledge Transfer, distinction given by the Government of the Republic’s Secretary of Economy.
